Message from the Commodore!
I am very proud to be the second member of my family serving as Commodore of the RKYC, following in my father’s wake. Involvement with boating started at an early age with me and I’ve been hanging around this club since I was very small. Sailing, racing and boating in general at this club has had a significant, positive influence on my life and that of my family. The people and the energy at the club were, and still are, something the members can be proud of and a great reason for new people to join. Boating is a great way to make family memories which last a lifetime, and carry into the next generation.
Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers, a lot of hard work and a strategic investment, a significant addition for the club is our new 75 ton travel lift, aka “The RoadRunner”. With this new equipment, we now have more than ever to offer with the additional lifting capacity and operational flexibility that comes with this piece of equipment. We are absolutely thrilled to be able to offer this new feature to our members and to visiting yachts.
The RKYC continues to have so much to offer, including an active marina, a full entertainment schedule and a thriving Learn to Sail program - for both adults and juniors. Most of what the RKYC is, and does, is due to the care and dedication of our member volunteers. We can’t do it without them.
The RKYC is also a great place for visiting cruisers on their way to enjoy our beautiful river system - the St. John and Kennebecasis rivers, and their many bays and connected lakes. Our river system is truly one of the best areas to boat and sail anywhere. Many cruisers from all over the world have stopped, stayed and enjoyed their time at our facilities.
In conclusion, I am looking forward to a great 2018. I am proud to serve, and proud to belong to the RKYC! Welcome to our Club!
