DESCRIPTION:<p>This is a chance to meet new members\, reconnect with friend
 s and enjoy the comradeship of the club!  All Members are welcome!  We loo
 k forward to seeing everyone there!</p>\n<p><strong>The order of events is
 :</strong></p>\n<p>5:00 – Members’ Day Celebration Begins. Drinks are serv
 ed in the clubhouse.</p>\n<p>5:30 – Opening remarks from the Commodore</p>
 \n<p>5:50 – Blessing of the Fleet by Elizabeth Stevenson</p>\n<p>6:10 – Fi
 ring of the big cannon</p>\n<p>6:15 – Members to their boats\, Commodores\
 , dignitaries and members not on boats on the Main Wharf. An awning/tent w
 ill be set up on the main wharf to provide shade.</p>\n<p>6:30 to 7:30 – S
 ail Past will commence upon the firing of the little cannon.</p>\n<p><stro
 ng>RKYC Member’s Day Sail Past Protocol</strong></p>\n<p><strong>The Proce
 dure:</strong></p>\n<p>The Sail Past takes place by sailing along the outs
 ide of the main wharf. Sailboats are to<br />\nbe sailed under main and ji
 b alone. Auxiliary power may be used\, where available to<br />\nmaintain 
 position and safety. In the event of calm winds\, smaller boats and dinghi
 es<br />\nmay be towed.</p>\n<p>The Reviewing Point is the middle of the m
 ain wharf.  The dispersal point for all boats<br />\nparticipating in the 
 Sail Past will be a reasonable distance beyond the Reviewing Point<br />\n
 as determined by wind conditions.</p>\n<p>Yachts are to proceed to the des
 ignated marshaling area and take station under<br />\nthe direction of the
  Fleet Captain. The Commodore will lead the fleet\, followed by the<br />
 \nFlag Officers and the Past Commodores followed by the Junior Sailing. Th
 e rest of the<br />\nfleet should generally have the large sailboats leadi
 ng\, power boats to tail. The Fleet<br />\nCaptain should be last. Departu
 re from the marshaling area will be the western or<br />\neastern passage\
 , as determined by wind directions.</p>\n<p>Yachts should be sailed from t
 he marshaling area to the Reviewing Point\, line-astern\,<br />\nat 30-yar
 d intervals. On approaching the Reviewing Point\, yachts salute from two<b
 r />\nboat lengths before the Reviewing Point to two boat lengths after.<b
 r />\nFor the Review itself\, lead yachts are to maintain a speed that all
 ows following<br />\nboats to keep in station. In favorable winds\, sails 
 should be set up so as not to exceed<br />\nfour knots of speed.</p>\n<p>A
 n appropriate Salute consists of “dipping” the ensign</p>
